Real People. Real Impact.
We’ve got bus, taxi, and light rail assets, but our biggest asset? Our team! To bring you closer to the incredible people behind each campaign, we’re excited to launch our GT Staff Spotlight Series! This series offers a little insight into their world and the passion that drives GoTransit forward.

First up: Patrick Waters, General Manager – Tasmania
Give us a brief summary of your career journey with GT so far!
I commenced at GoTransit in June 2021 as General Manager in Tasmania, managing both local direct and agency campaigns. Over the past three years, I’ve focused on building a strong foundation for growth not only within Tasmania but also extending into other markets across Australia.
What’s a project or achievement at GoTransit that you’re really proud of?
One of the achievements I’m particularly proud of is the continued year-on-year growth with a number of clients. Just Better Care comes to mind – they started in Hobart three years ago, and their campaigns have grown significantly each year, moving from full backs to megasides. Now, they’re set to kick off their first campaign on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria.

What’s a fun fact about you that most people wouldn’t know?
Outside of work, friends, family, and our kids all call me ‘Papi.’ I’m not quite sure how it started, but it’s stuck!
How do you like to unwind after a busy week?
I love relaxing with a beer with friends or clients at my favourite Hobart pub, The Whaler down at Salamanca. Or, sometimes, it’s a wine at home with my wife, enjoying the view of the Derwent River.

If you could describe yourself in 3 words, what would they be?
Personable, dedicated & Loose (just a little 😉).

What’s your favourite GT campaign to date, and why?
That’s a tough one to pick, but the Callington Mill Distillery campaign stands out. I’m a big whisky fan, so seeing this campaign roam around Tasmania was a highlight. Plus, it was my first large-scale, large-panel campaign.

What do you think is the coolest thing about OOH?
I love the creativity that out-of-home advertising allows. You can make a real impact with vibrant, eye-catching designs that resonate within the community.

Thanks for sharing, Patrick Waters! His dedication to clients, love for Tasmania, and passion for impactful advertising are just a few of the reasons we’re lucky to have him at GoTransit Media Group. Keep an eye out for the next feature in our GT Staff Spotlight Series to meet more of the people who keep us rolling.
