GoTransit’s retired laptops are finding new life in the hands of those who need them most. Our third donation to The Laptop Initiative is helping refugees, asylum seekers, disadvantaged youth, and women impacted by domestic violence access the digital tools they need to move forward.
GoTransit Donates Third Round of Laptops to Support Communities in Need
GoTransit has made its third laptop donation to The Laptop Initiative, continuing a simple but impactful way to give back.
This latest batch of retired laptops will be refurbished and distributed to refugees, asylum seekers, disadvantaged youth, and women impacted by domestic violence. People who can’t access to the digital tools many of us take for granted. According to Good Things Australia’s report, ‘Economic Benefits of Overcoming Digital Exclusion’, one in ten Australians are digitally excluded and face a social and economic disadvantage.
By partnering with The Laptop Initiative, we’re helping to extend the life of our old tech and support digital inclusion across Australia. It’s a practical way to contribute to community support, digital access, and corporate social responsibility, all while reducing e-waste (in which Australia already generates over 500,000 tonnes).
We’re proud to play a small role in helping these devices find new purpose and new owners. A huge thankyou to The Laptop Initiative for the important work they do. If you have old laptops sitting idle, check them out! They’re doing brilliant things.
