GoTransit has expanded its Melbourne bus advertising network into West Footscray and Melton, helping brands connect with more audiences across the city’s rapidly growing west and key CBD travel corridors.
GoTransit Media Group has expanded its Greater Melbourne network with the acquisition of bus advertising assets across West Footscray and Melton, creating new opportunities for advertisers to reach audiences throughout Melbourne’s growing west.
The addition of these two depots strengthens GoTransit’s presence across the city, extends its network into the Melbourne CBD and provides brands with greater access to commuters, motorists and local communities along key western growth corridors.
Growing GoTransit’s Melbourne footprint
The West Footscray and Melton fleets join GoTransit’s established operations across Tullamarine, Sunshine, Oakleigh, Cranbourne, Brunswick, Wyndham, Preston and Broadmeadows, as well as the recently added Pakenham network in Melbourne’s south-east.
Together, these locations create an extensive transit advertising network spanning Melbourne’s north, north-west, west and south-east.
According to MOVE data, GoTransit’s Melbourne network reaches an estimated 96% of people aged 14 and over across these markets, giving advertisers the opportunity to build broad awareness while maintaining a strong presence within individual communities.

Greater reach across Melbourne’s growing West
Melbourne’s west continues to experience significant residential and economic growth, bringing new communities, businesses and everyday journeys to the region.
The addition of West Footscray strengthens GoTransit’s reach across Melbourne’s inner west and into the CBD, while the Melton fleet connects advertisers with audiences across one of the city’s rapidly expanding outer-western corridors.
For brands, this creates more opportunities to be seen throughout the day as buses move between residential neighbourhoods, retail centres, employment areas, transport interchanges and major roads.
Kirrily Hirst, Director of Sales at GoTransit, said the expansion places advertisers in front of audiences across an important area of population growth.
“Melbourne’s west is where a lot of the city’s population growth is happening right now, and West Footscray and Melton put us squarely in front of those audiences.”
Connecting brands with audiences on the move
Bus advertising gives brands a visible and repeated presence within the communities they want to reach. Rather than remaining in one fixed location, advertisements travel throughout local areas and along busy transport corridors, connecting with motorists, pedestrians, commuters and public transport passengers.
With the addition of West Footscray and Melton, advertisers can use GoTransit’s network to:
- Extend campaigns into Melbourne’s inner and outer west
- Reach audiences travelling into and around the Melbourne CBD
- Build visibility across rapidly growing residential communities
- Connect multiple Melbourne markets through one coordinated campaign
- Maintain a repeated brand presence along everyday travel routes

Caleb Harriott, Director of Operations and Partnerships at GoTransit, said the acquisition is another important step in the continued growth of GoTransit’s network.
“West Footscray and Melton are important additions to our Melbourne network, giving advertisers even greater access to audiences across the city’s key growth corridors.”
Metropolitan and Regional Coverage across Victoria
GoTransit’s Victorian reach extends well beyond Melbourne.
The wider network also includes Geelong, Mildura, Bendigo, the Latrobe Valley, Mornington Peninsula, Bacchus Marsh, the Dandenong Ranges and Monbulk.
This combination of metropolitan and regional coverage allows advertisers to plan campaigns across individual markets or establish a broader presence throughout Victoria, supported by strategic placement, creative design and campaign production.

New Advertising Opportunities Available Now
Advertising opportunities across GoTransit’s new West Footscray and Melton fleets are now available.
Whether the goal is to reach local communities in Melbourne’s west, connect with audiences travelling towards the CBD or build visibility across multiple metropolitan and regional markets, the expanded network provides brands with more ways to become part of Victoria’s everyday journeys.
