GoTransit Media Group’s Marika James has expanded her role beyond agency sales, stepping into the position of Charity Partnerships Manager to lead purpose-driven initiatives across the business. Through GoTransit For Good, Marika is helping connect agencies, clients, charities and the wider GoTransit team in support of causes that matter.
At GoTransit Media Group, connection is at the centre of everything we do. As Australia’s leading transit out-of-home advertising specialist, our work helps brands reach people where they are: outdoors, on the road and on the move.
Now, that same spirit of connection is helping shape a growing focus on community impact through GoTransit For Good, a purpose-driven charity partnerships initiative led by Marika James.
Marika, GoTransit’s Sydney Agency Sales Director, has taken on the additional role of Charity Partnerships Manager, bringing together her experience in agency relationships with her passion for supporting meaningful causes. The role was created to help GoTransit build stronger, more consistent partnerships with media agencies, charitable organisations and community initiatives across Australia.
For Marika, GoTransit For Good is about more than one-off fundraising moments. It is about continuing to work closely with both agency and charity partners throughout the year, supporting them where possible and encouraging the wider GoTransit team to get involved when it matters most.

Supporting Dolly’s Dream
A recent example of GoTransit For Good in action was GoTransit’s donation drive in support of Dolly’s Dream, a cause Marika has long been passionate about.
Dolly’s Dream provides practical tools, workshops and resources to help young people, parents and educators stand up to bullying and spread kindness. The organisation’s work focuses on creating safer communities across Australia and supporting young people impacted by bullying.
From 13 April to 8 May, GoTransit donated from every campaign booked during that period, raising $4,000 for Dolly’s Dream. The initiative connected campaign activity with community impact, giving clients and team members a simple way to contribute to an important cause.
The wider GoTransit team also got involved in the lead-up to Do It For Dolly Day, a national day that encourages schools, workplaces, sports clubs and communities to go blue, raise awareness, start conversations and support young people impacted by bullying.
As part of the team’s involvement, Marika hosted an arts and crafts morning tea whereEssenceMediacom team members made bracelets and painted butterflies. The activity created a thoughtful moment for the team to connect with the cause and reflect on the message at the heart of Dolly’s Dream: to choose kindness.
GoTransit attended the Dolly’s Dream trivia night, while Nick Humphreys hosted a Melbourne champagne breakfast on Do It For Dolly Day, bringing the team together to show support and mark the occasion.
For Marika, the result was a proud moment for Go Transit For Good: $4,000 raised for an organisation the team cares deeply about, supported by clients, colleagues and agency partners including EssenceMediacom Australia & New Zealand.

Drop for a Cause
GoTransit’s community involvement has also been seen on the Gold Coast through its sponsorship of Drop for a Cause, an event supporting the Gold Coast Community Fund.
The Gold Coast Community Fund has supported Gold Coast families in need since 2000, with a focus on locals helping locals. Drop for a Cause brings together Gold Coast businesses and community leaders for a high-energy team challenge at Dreamworld’s Giant Drop, raising funds for the Fund’s work across the region.
GoTransit’s Johnny Bueti and Shaylin Adams took on the Giant Drop alongside representatives from Chempro Chemists, Kingsford Lawyers and Sunny Advertising.
Held at Dreamworld, the challenge was not exactly for the faint-hearted. The Giant Drop rises 119 metres into the sky before sending riders down 39 storeys at speeds of up to 135km/h. Community spirit, but with a very convincing scream track.
