GoTransit proudly joined Wear It Yellow 2025 to support First Nations communities during National Reconciliation Week. Our team wore yellow to honour culture and raised $4,620 for Children’s Ground. Together, we stood for education, empowerment, and connection to Country.

On the morning of May 28th, our team at GoTransit Media Group came together to stand in solidarity with First Nations communities for Wear It Yellow day, as part of National Reconciliation Week. With yellow threads and warm smiles, GoTransit proudly supported Children’s Ground, a powerful First Nations-led movement focused on empowering kids through education, health, and cultural strength.

Why Yellow?

Yellow is more than a bright colour; it represents the sacred ochre of the land, used by First Nations people for generations and reflecting their powerful connection to Country and the earth. It’s also the centre of the Aboriginal Flag, symbolising the sun as the giver of life. And it’s the signature colour of Children’s Ground, the very organisation we stood in support of. Wearing yellow was our way of honouring culture, connection, and the vibrant spirit of First Nations communities.

About Children’s Ground

Children’s Ground is doing transformative work. Led by communities, for communities, they deliver long-term programs that integrate education, health, and wellbeing for First Nations children from early childhood. What sets them apart? Every aspect of their work uplifts culture, language, and connection to Country so kids grow strong in who they are and where they come from.

A Goal Exceeded, A Community Inspired

What began as a modest goal of raising $2,500 quickly transformed into something even more meaningful. Thanks to the generosity and enthusiasm of our team and supporters, we proudly exceeded our target raising $4,620! Every dollar will help Children’s Ground expand their life-changing work, ensuring First Nations kids have the support they need today and for generations to come.

How You Can Be Part of It

This journey doesn’t end with one event. You can still make a difference:

  • Donate directly to Children’s Ground at childrensground.org.au
  • Talk about reconciliation—in your workplace, your community, your home
  • Wear it yellow—and wear it with pride and purpose

Together, we can create a future full of hope, strength, and opportunity for First Nations children. Let’s keep the momentum going.
