GoTransit Media Group reflects on its 2026 reconciliation efforts, led by Paula Kerr, through learning, connection, community partnerships and meaningful action. From National Reconciliation Week events to local education initiatives, the year reinforced the importance of being “All In.”

A year of learning, listening and action

In 2026, GoTransit Media Group continued to strengthen its reconciliation journey through learning, connection and practical community support. Led by Paula Kerr, Director of Social Strategies and Strategic Partnerships, our reconciliation efforts reflected the spirit of National Reconciliation Week 2026: All In.

For GoTransit, being “All In” means recognising that reconciliation is not a single moment on the calendar. It is an ongoing commitment to building respectful relationships, deepening cultural understanding and supporting initiatives that create meaningful change across the communities we work with.

Continuing our Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan

As GoTransit continues the implementation of its Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan, our focus remains on building the foundations for long-term action. Reconciliation Action Plans provide organisations with a structured framework to contribute to reconciliation through relationships, respect and opportunities.

This year, our team took part in a range of activities designed to encourage reflection, education and shared responsibility.

Attending the 2026 Reconciliation Queensland Gala

PK represented GoTransit Media Group at the 2026 Reconciliation Queensland Gala in Meanjin, Brisbane. The event brought together leaders, organisations and community members for an evening centred on reflection, connection and Queensland’s ongoing reconciliation journey.

The evening’s “All In” theme reinforced the importance of shared commitment. For GoTransit, it was a valuable opportunity to listen, learn and connect with others who are working toward a more inclusive future.

Learning on Country in Mooloolaba

During National Reconciliation Week, GoTransit team members also attended a local Saltwater Eco Tour in Mooloolaba. The experience offered the team an opportunity to learn more about culture, Country and the stories that shape local communities.

The tour was a reminder that connection begins with listening. Experiences like this help deepen understanding and encourage more informed, respectful engagement with First Nations histories, cultures and perspectives.

Supporting the Bush Tukka Garden at Eumundi State School

GoTransit also donated $500 to support the Bush Tukka Garden at Eumundi State School, in partnership with Indigenous-owned business The Bush Nursery – Grown on Country.

The contribution will support new signage and interactive QR codes, helping students learn more about native foods, Indigenous knowledge and connection to Country. Bush food is a growing sector in Australia, with research showing increasing demand for native ingredients and Indigenous-led knowledge in food, agriculture and tourism.

This project reflects the power of education: giving young people hands-on opportunities to understand culture, sustainability and Country in a living classroom environment.

Creating space for honest conversations

Another important part of GoTransit’s reconciliation efforts was an interview with Roger “Wirogiree” Clarke, who generously responded to thoughtful questions about reconciliation. The conversation encouraged learning through openness, curiosity and respect.

Our RAP Working Group continues to encourage team members to attend First Nations events in their local area, connect with councils and reconciliation groups, and keep learning beyond National Reconciliation Week.

Looking ahead

Reconciliation requires sustained action, not occasional attention. GoTransit Media Group is proud of the steps taken in 2026 and remains committed to continuing this work through our Reflect RAP, community partnerships and ongoing education.

Being “All In” means showing up, listening deeply and taking practical steps forward. That work continues.
